Q45.8: Other specified congenital malformations of digestive system
You have a congenital defect of your digestive organs.
Various organs are required for digesting food. The upper digestive organs are the mouth, oesophagus, stomach and the first segment of the intestines. The liver, along with the gallbladder and the pancreas, also form part of the upper digestive organs. The lower digestive organs are the rest of the intestine and the anus.
While developing in the womb, many different types of tissue develop in the body. The organs and body parts develop out of the various types of tissue. If tissue fails to develop properly, defects can occur.
