Q71.1: Congenital absence of upper arm and forearm with hand present
You are missing your upper arm and forearm on one or both sides. Your hand is connected directly to the upper body on the affected side. This condition is congenital, which means you were born with it.
The arms develop in the first few weeks of pregnancy. This development can be disturbed for various reasons. This may be the case with certain congenital diseases. Taking certain medication during pregnancy can also adversely affect the development of the arms.
