Q71.6: Lobster-claw hand
You are missing one or more of the fingers in the middle of your hand. This condition is congenital, which means you were born with it. This is called lobster-claw hand.
The hand is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. Immediately after the forearm is the carpus. Then comes the metacarpus and then the individual fingers.
A lobster-claw hand is where your middle finger has not developed properly. Other fingers may also be missing. A lobster-claw hand can be hereditary. This means that other family members can also be affected.
