Q72.5: Longitudinal reduction defect of tibia
Your tibia has not developed properly. As a result, you have a congenital condition.
There are 2 bones in the lower leg, the tibia and the fibula. The tibia is on the inside of the leg. The fibula is on the outside of the leg. Both bones in the lower leg have an upper, middle and lower section.
There may be a number of different reasons for the tibia not properly developing. Certain congenital diseases can lead to an improperly developed tibia, for example. Taking certain medication during pregnancy can result in the child’s tibia not being properly developed. This means the child’s leg can be bent or shortened, for example.
