S05.4: Penetrating wound of orbit with or without foreign body
You have an injury to your eye socket.
The eye socket is a bony cavity in the face part of the skull. It is cone-shaped and padded with fatty tissue. Within it, the eye is well protected. The eye muscles, the tear duct and the optic nerve are also located in the eye socket. An injury can be caused by a foreign body getting into the eye socket, for example. If a foreign body remains in the eye socket, it can become inflamed.
