S26.9: Injury of heart, unspecified
You have injured your heart.
The heart pumps blood through the body. Inside the heart are 4 chambers. There are 2 heart atria and 2 ventricles. Both heart atria and both ventricles are separated from each other by a partition.
The heart gets injured, for example, as a result of an accident or a violent blow to the chest.
When the heart has been damaged, it may sometimes no longer be able to pump blood through the body so well. The person may then lose consciousness. The heart might have an irregular beat for a while after an injury.
