S33.2: Dislocation of sacroiliac and sacrococcygeal joint

You have dislocated a joint in your sacrum.

In a joint, at least 2 bones are connected to one another. There are various joints in the lumbar spine and the pelvis.

There is a joint between the sacrum and the pelvis. There is also a joint below, between the sacrum and the coccyx. Tight ligaments clamp these joints so firmly that they can hardly move. In your case, the bones in one of these joints are not properly aligned. The injury may also have damaged the tight ligaments.

You may have pain in the back or pelvis as a result of the injury. You may also be unable to move properly. The injury may also have damaged surrounding organs. These could include the intestine or the bladder.
