S39.80: Penile fracture

You have a penis fracture.

In the penis there is a lot of erectile tissue and the urethra. When the erectile tissue fills with blood, the penis becomes erect.

If the penis is stiff and it gets badly bent, the erectile tissue can rupture. If erectile tissue ruptures, this is known as a fractured penis. The rupture of the erectile tissue may be heard as a snapping sound. The penis may go limp immediately afterwards.

A penis fracture can be very painful. A blue patch or a swelling can form on the penis.
