S84.1: Injury of peroneal nerve at lower leg level
You have injured one or more nerves in your lower leg.
Many nerves run from the spinal cord and brain to the organs, skin and muscles in the body. Most nerves have various functions at the same time. For example, part of the nerve controls specific muscles. If this part is damaged, you may no longer be able to use that muscle strongly or at all. Another part of the nerve can be vital for sensing touch or heat on the skin.
Where exactly the symptoms appear depends on where the nerve was damaged. You have damaged your peroneal nerve. The peroneal nerve is important for flexing your knee and moving your foot. The nerve is also important for sensation on the outside of your lower leg and the back of your foot.
