T40.3: Poisoning: Methadone

You have methadone poisoning.

Methadone is a drug that can ease pain. It can also be used to treat heroin addiction.

A drug can cause poisoning if, for example, too much of it is taken. The drug may also be administered or taken by mistake.

Methadone poisoning can cause nausea, vomiting or constipation, for example. The pupils are typically constricted. You can have difficulties concentrating or be drowsy. You may stop breathing enough. You may also lose consciousness. It can also cause heart problems.
