T42.0: Poisoning: Hydantoin derivatives
You have been poisoned by a drug in the hydantoins group.
Hydantoins include drugs used with a range of disorders. These include the drug phenytoin, for example. Phenytoin can be used to treat epilepsy or certain types of pain, for example.
A drug can cause poisoning if, for example, too much of it is taken. The drug may also be administered or taken by mistake.
Hydantoin poisoning can cause dizziness and headaches. Depending on exactly which drug has caused the poisoning, there can be various other symptoms. For example, it may no longer be possible to control one’s movements properly. It may also have seizures. The heart function may also become limited.
