T86.07: Chronic graft-versus-host disease, severe

After you were given stem cells from another person, you had problems.

Stem cells are cells that can develop into different types of cells. For example, blood cells can develop from stem cells. Stem cells are found in the blood and inside some bones. Some time ago you were given stem cells from another person. Immune cells, amongst other things, also develop from the stem cells. The immune system normally protects the body from pathogens and foreign substances. Your immune system, however, has badly damaged tissue in your body after the stem cell donation.

The skin or the digestive organs can get damaged after a stem cell donation, for example.

If the skin was damaged, you may have a rash, for example. If the digestive organs were damaged, you may have abdominal pains or diarrhea, for example.
