Z01.0: Examination of eyes and vision

Your eyes have been tested.

Different techniques are used to examine different areas of the eyes. On the one hand, the eyes are observed from the outside. On the other hand, lights and magnifiers are used to look inside.

An eye test might also form part of the eye examination. For this purpose, charts are used that have letters which need to be recognized. An eye test sometimes also tests your color vision or the size of your field of vision.

Additional indicator

On medical documents, the ICD code is often appended by letters that indicate the diagnostic certainty or the affected side of the body.

  • G: Confirmed diagnosis
  • V: Tentative diagnosis
  • Z: Condition after
  • A: Excluded diagnosis
  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
