Z03.1: Observation for suspected malignant neoplasm
You were medically monitored in order to rule out a cancer illness.
The tissue in the body is made up of cells. With cancer, the cells multiply uncontrollably, which leads to a malignant neoplasm (abnormal growth of tissue) developing. The cancer cells can destroy the healthy tissue and spread throughout the body.
Typical symptoms or suspicious examination results may indicate cancer. If tuberculosis is suspected, other tests or close observation may then be required until the suspicion can be ruled out.
