Z31.2: In vitro fertilization

You had artificial insemination.

The egg cells mature inside the ovaries. For a woman to get pregnant, a mature egg cell has to be fertilized by sperm.

There are different methods of artificial insemination. You underwent a procedure whereby mature egg cells were removed from the ovaries. The egg cells are artificially inseminated in the laboratory. One or more inseminated egg cells are then inserted into the uterus. The egg cells are then supposed to nest in the uterus and develop into a child.
