The aim of plastic surgery may be, for example, to improve the mobility of the part of the body concerned. Plastic surgery can also be carried out for cosmetic reasons. It may be that the aim is to restore the original shape of the part of the body concerned. Scar tissue may also be removed during surgery of this type. In some cases the removal of scar tissue can improve the mobility of the part of the body concerned. But after the removal of scar tissue the scars may also be less visible.
