Z45.20: Adjustment and management of surgically implanted vascular indwelling catheter systems
A vascular access that you have has been checked or looked after.
Sometimes you have to receive drugs over an extended period or repeatedly. For example, a thin tube is placed into the blood vessels or up to the heart. Drugs or fluids are injected into the body through this tube. This is also called a vascular access.
You may also have a port. A port is a small chamber that is connected to the end of the thin tube. The chamber is located under the skin and has a thin wall. If someone wants to give you a drug, they can inject it into the chamber through the skin.
