It leads through the abdominal wall into the stomach or the first segment of the intestines. This kind of feeding tube is put in during an operation. You can receive fluid and food through this tube.

This type of artificial entrance to your stomach requires special care. That includes for instance cleaning the opening and replacing material at the opening.
