Z95.3: Presence of xenogenic heart valve
You have a new heart valve.
There are 4 valves in the heart. These valves ensure that the blood flows in the right direction. So they have to close tightly. They also have to open up fully so that the blood can be properly pumped out of the heart.
One of your heart valves had not worked properly. The heart valve may have been leaky or constricted. You have therefore received a new heart valve. The new heart valve is made of animal-derived material. The valve may for instance originate from pigs or cattle.
