Z98.1: Arthrodesis status

One of your joints was braced by surgery in the past.

Injuries and diseases can cause a joint severe damage. You may have severe pain or the bones in the joint may no longer be staying together correctly. In that case, the joint can be braced in surgery.

The bones can be connected together with screws or metal plates. In this way, the bones grow together and the joint is braced. The bones in the joint can then no longer be moved.
