Z98.2: Presence of cerebrospinal fluid drainage device

You have a tube in your body that drains cerebrospinal fluid.

There are cavities with cerebrospinal fluid in the brain, around the brain and around the spinal cord. Among other things, the cerebrospinal fluid cushions the brain and spinal cord during knocks and also nourishes the brain cells. The cerebrospinal fluid is constantly reproduced and flows out of the brain through various openings.

Your cerebrospinal fluid probably cannot drain off properly. The cerebrospinal fluid can thus accumulate in the head and damage the brain. For this reason, you have a tube that drains the cerebrospinal fluid in one direction. This kind of tube can for instance run from the brain into the abdomen or heart.
