Z99.2: Dependence on renal dialysis

You have been depending on a dialysis machine for several months.

The kidneys detoxify the body. The kidneys ensure that the body does not have too much fluid.

Your kidneys are no longer working adequately. You therefore have to have regular renal replacement therapy. This is also referred to as dialysis. During dialysis, the blood is detoxified and excess water removed.

There are various forms of dialysis. The blood can be purified directly via a large blood vessel or through the abdomen.
