Aufgrund einer mütterlichen Zucker-Krankheit sind gesundheitliche Probleme aufgetreten.

Wenn bei der Mutter in der Schwangerschaft eine Zucker-Krankheit entsteht, dann kann das die Entwicklung des Kindes beeinflussen. Es kann sein, dass das Kind größer und schwerer ist als die meisten anderen Kinder. Nach der Geburt kann es Probleme mit der Atmung geben.

In der ersten Zeit nach der Geburt kann es sein, dass der Zucker-Gehalt im Blut des Neugeborenen immer wieder zu niedrig ist. Wenn der Zucker-Gehalt im Blut zu niedrig ist, dann kann die Atmung schneller sein als normalerweise oder aussetzen. Bei Problemen mit der Atmung kann sich die Haut bläulich verfärben. Die Körper-Temperatur kann niedriger sein als normalerweise. Es können auch Krampfanfälle oder Bewusstlosigkeit auftreten.
