1-484.7:
Biopsy without incision on bones and joints: Imaging-guided percutaneous biopsy of joints and bursae: Knee
Tissue samples were taken from your knee joint using a needle.
The knee joint connects the thigh to the lower leg. The knee joint is made up of 3 bones. These bones are the thighbone (femur), the shinbone (tibia) and the kneecap. The kneecap sits in a groove at the front of the thighbone.
The tissue samples were taken using a needle. This needle was inserted through your skin into the relevant joint. At the same time, images were taken of the inside of your body. That way it is possible to see exactly where the needle is.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
