Physiological function tests: Cardiorespiratory polygraphy

Your sleeping behavior has been examined over a period of hours. This involved testing whether you are getting enough air while you sleep.

Sleep involves a certain sequence and it is governed by various factors. There are deep sleep phases and lighter sleep phases. These phases alternate during sleep and they also affect breathing. Certain illnesses can also affect breathing when sleeping.

Equipment is used to take various measurements during the test. The heartbeat and the movements of your body are measured, for example. Various measuring devices are also used to monitor your breathing. Any snoring sounds and pauses in breathing are also recorded.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides

Further information

Note
