Diagnostic puncture and aspiration: Diagnostic puncture of eyes and adnexae: Anterior chamber of eye

A sample has been taken from the front of your eye with a needle.

There is a front and a rear area in the eye. In the front area, the incoming light is broken down and thus bundled into a beam. Control is also exerted over how much light should fall into the eye. The front area begins at the transparent cornea. Behind this lies the iris, along with the pupil and the lens. There are 2 chambers between these different layers. These chambers are full of aqueous fluid.

The sample taken can be tissue or fluid. It can then be examined in the laboratory.
