OPS-Code 1-995.33:
Other diagnostic measures: (Targeted) analysis of gene expression changes in solid malignant neoplasms: Clonality testing: With 11 or more target structures
Cancer cells from your body were examined to see whether the cells originated from a single modified original cell.
The tissue in the body is made up of cells. With cancer, the cells multiply uncontrollably, which leads to a malignant neoplasm (abnormal growth of tissue) developing. The cancer cells can destroy the healthy tissue and spread throughout the body.
Cancer cells can arise from a single modified original cell. When this original cell divides, new cancer cells with the same alteration are formed.
This investigation involved taking a sample and then examining the cancer cells in a laboratory using special methods.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
