5-363.2:
Operations on the coronary vessels: Other revascularization of the heart: Coronary artery bypass – new creation
You had another bypass operation.
The heart muscle is supplied with oxygen-rich blood via the coronary arteries. The coronary arteries are blood vessels that run around the outside of the heart. When coronary vessels have narrowed or closed, the blood supply in the heart is no longer right.
Bypass surgery bridges narrowed or closed coronary arteries using replacement blood vessels. The replacement blood vessels then guide the blood past the affected sites. As a result, the heart should be better supplied with blood.
You had one or more existing replacement vessels renewed.
