5-758.6:

Other birth-assisting operations: Reconstruction of female genital organs after rupture, postpartum [perineal laceration]: Suture to the skin and musculature of perineum and vulva, suturing of the sphincter ani and suture to rectum

One or more tears in your perineum or your external genital organs have been sutured. Your rectum and the sphincter of your anus were also sutured.

The skin and the muscles of your perineum or your external genital organs tore when you were giving birth to your child. The last section of your large intestine and the sphincter of your anus also tore.

The external female genital organs include the labia, the clitoris and the skin around the vagina. The perineum is the area between the vagina and the anus. The anus is located at the end of the intestines and is ring-shaped. A sphincter muscle in the last segment of the intestines ensures that we only intentionally excrete feces through the anus.
