5-787.m9:
Operations on other bones: Removal of osteosynthesis material: Ring fixator: Distal ulna
Aids have been removed from your ulna.
To stabilize bones or parts of bones, various aids can be used. They can be made of metal or plastic, for example.
There are 2 bones in the forearm, the ulna and the radius. The ulna is on the side where your little finger is. The radius is on the side where your thumb is. Both bones in the forearm have an upper, middle and lower section. The lower ends of the ulna and the radius are connected to the hand by the wrist.
A special fixation system has been removed from the lower section of your ulna. A fixation system like this is used, for example, to stabilize broken bones. The fixation system for your ulna consisted of some rings and pins that were external to the arm.
