OPS-Code 5-789.3a:

Operations on other bones: Other operations on the bone: Inspection of osteosynthesis material without replacement of material: Carpals

You had another operation on your carpal bones. In the past, this area was stabilized with aids.

The hand is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. The hand can be divided into 3 sections. The wrist (carpus) is directly connected to the forearm. Then comes the metacarpus and then the individual fingers. The carpus consists of 8 carpal bones. There are 2 rows of them. The lower row is closer to the wrist. The upper row (of bones) is towards the fingers. The carpal bones are connected to each other via joints.

To stabilize bones or parts of bones, various aids can be used. They can be made of metal or plastic, for example. During a repeat operation, the aids can be checked and if necessary reattached. However, your aids were not replaced.
