OPS-Code 5-789.3j:

Operations on other bones: Other operations on the bone: Inspection of osteosynthesis material without replacement of material: Patella

You had another operation on your kneecap. In the past, the kneecap was stabilized with aids.

The kneecap sits at the front of the knee. It protects the knee joint. It is also important for knee movements. When you bend and stretch the knee, the kneecap slides along the femur. Firm tissue connects the kneecap to the muscle at the front of the thigh and to the tibia.

To stabilize bones or parts of bones, various aids can be used. They can be made of metal or plastic, for example. During a repeat operation, the aids can be checked and if necessary reattached. However, your aids were not replaced.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
