Operations on other bones: Inspection of osteosynthesis material with reosteosynthesis: By ring fixator: Neck of femur

Your femoral neck has been re-stabilized using aids.

The femur has an upper, middle and lower section. The upper section of the femur is connected to the pelvic bones by the hip joint. The upper section includes the neck and head of the femur plus 2 bony protrusions. The bony protrusions lie between the neck of the femur and its central section. The neck of the femur is set at an angle to the central section.

Your femoral neck bone fragments have been joined and stabilized using a special fixation system. The special fixation system involves inserting metal pins or screws through the skin from outside and into the femur. These are then joined to one another outside the body using a holding system. The fixation system consists of some rings and pins located around the bone.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
