Operations on other bones: Inspection of osteosynthesis material with reosteosynthesis: By ring fixator: Proximal fibula

Your fibula has been re-stabilized using aids.

There are 2 bones in the lower leg, the tibia and the fibula. The tibia is on the inside of the leg. The fibula is on the outside of the leg. Both bones in the lower leg have an upper, middle and lower section.

The bone fragments from the upper section of your fibula have been joined and stabilized using a special fixation system.

The special fixation system involves inserting metal pins or screws through the skin from outside and into the fibula. These are then joined to one another outside the body using a holding system. The fixation system consists of some rings and pins located around the bone.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides

Further information

Note

Your doctor will assist you with any health-related questions and explain the OPS code to you in a direct consultation if necessary.
