Arthroscopic joint operations: Arthroscopic joint operation: Joint mobilization [arthrolysis]: Glenohumeral joint
You had an operation on your shoulder joint in order to improve its mobility.
Improving the mobility of the joint might involve removing scars or adhesions from the joint, for example. Bony projections may also be removed there. Joints are encased in a joint capsule. A shortened joint capsule can also restrict the shoulder’s mobility. The joint capsule can then be lengthened by putting notches in it.
Your operation was carried out via an arthroscopy. An arthroscopy first involves making a small incision in the skin. A camera was pushed through this incision. This camera sends images of the inside of the joint to a screen. Instruments such as forceps and scissors can be inserted into the joint through other small incisions.
Additional indicator
