Manipulation of urinary tract: Insertion, replacement and removal of ureteral stent: Removal: Intraoperative

A tube has been removed from your ureter.

The ureter is a thin, muscular tube in the abdomen. There is usually one ureter on each side. The urine flows from the kidney, via the ureter, to the bladder.

A tube in the ureter is usually made of plastic. The aim of the tube is to ensure that the ureter remains open so that the urine can flow away unhindered. The tube was replaced during surgery.
