Die Gallenblase liegt rechts oben im Bauch unter der Leber. Die Leber bildet die Gallenflüssigkeit. Die Gallenflüssigkeit fließt durch Gallengänge in die Gallenblase und wird dort gespeichert. Durch einen weiteren Gallengang fließt die Gallenflüssigkeit bei Bedarf in den Darm. Dort hilft die Gallenflüssigkeit dabei, Fette zu verdauen.

Wenn man mit einer Nadel in die Gallenblase sticht, dann kann man zum Beispiel angesammelte Flüssigkeit ablassen.
