A catheter has been used to widen a blood vessel in your spine.

A catheter is a thin tube. This tube is inserted into a blood vessel in the groin or arm, and pushed further in. Various instruments can be pushed at the front of the tube. X-ray images are taken during the treatment. These show clearly whether the tip of the tube is in the right place.

A special balloon was used in your treatment. This type of balloon is placed in a bottleneck and inflated there. This enables the blood vessel to be widened.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
