Anesthesia: Intravenous anesthetics

You have been given an anesthetic for a treatment.

When someone is given an anesthetic, they are no longer conscious and they no longer feel any pain. To induce anesthesia, a drug was administered into one of your blood vessels.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
