A06.3: Amoeboma of intestine
You have been infected with amebae. As a result, your intestines have become inflamed.
Amebae are pathogens that occur especially in the Earth’s warm regions. You can be infected with amebae via contaminated foods or drinks. If you are infected, the symptoms usually only occur after several days. The amebae damage the mucous membranes in the intestines. This results in inflammation of the intestines.
As a result of the inflammation, one or several swellings have formed in the intestinal mucous membranes. This kind of swelling is made up of inflammatory cells. The swelling may be very large and become painful.
