A06.6: Amoebic brain abscess
You have been infected with amebae. As a result, one or several cavities filled with dead cells have formed in your brain.
Amebae are pathogens that occur especially in the Earth’s warm regions. You can be infected with amebae via contaminated foods or drinks. If you are infected, the symptoms usually only occur after several days. Amebae often cause inflammation of the intestines. They can then cause diarrhea.
The amebae can get into the brain and form cavities filled with dead cells. You can have headaches, vomiting or cramps for example, and be very sick. Some people also lose consciousness.
