A70: Chlamydia psittaci infection

You have a disease that is caused by specific bacteria. This disease is also called psittacosis or parrot disease.

The bacteria are part of the chlamydia group and are transmitted especially from birds to humans.

Headaches, limb pain and fever are common initially. The lungs usually become inflamed, causing coughing. You may then also become severely ill and feel exhausted. Other organs such as the spleen or heart can also be affected by the disease.
