A98.1: Omsk haemorrhagic fever
You have been infected by the Omsk hemorrhagic fever virus.
The Omsk hemorrhagic fever virus occurs in Siberia. You can get infected by being bitten by a tick. You can also get infected by coming into contact with the bodily fluids of muskrats.
This virus can cause a feverish illness. First of all you can have headaches, sore limbs and a sore throat. Spots or patches of blood can appear on the skin. You may also have bleeds in internal organs. The Omsk virus can cause inflammation of the brain. You can then become confused or lose consciousness. You can also suffer seizures. You may also be unable to move certain parts of your body properly. You may think and behave abnormally. You may be seriously ill.
