In America these fungi occur in the ground in dry regions. You can become infected by breathing in dust that contains germs. Sandstorms, in particular, increase this risk.

Your lungs are inflamed. When the lungs are inflamed you can have a high temperature, headaches, a cough, and breathing problems.
