B45.0: Pulmonary cryptococcosis
You have cryptococcosis in your lungs.
You have been infected by certain pathogens in the cryptococcosis group. Cryptococci are yeasty fungi. These fungi occur in bird droppings, for example. You can become infected by these fungi if you breathe in unclean dust.
These germs then cause cryptococcosis if the defense system is weak, in particular. The immune system can be weakened by another illness, for example, or by a treatment. If you are infected with the germs, the symptoms usually only appear after several months.
The germs have propagated in your lungs. This may cause few problems, or none at all. Sometimes you have a cough. But the germs may also give you pneumonia. Then you will have a high temperature and breathing problems, for example.
