B48.3: Geotrichosis

You have been infected by certain fungi. The fungi have damaged one or more of your organs.

The fungi can attack many organs in the body. The lungs are usually affected. The skin or bowel may also be affected. The fungi can cause inflammation, for example. You can then have various symptoms, such as a high temperature and pain. The fungi can also get into the blood. You will then usually be seriously ill.

The fungi are usually on the skin or in the bowel. The fungi are then harmless. But if the defense system is weak, the fungi can cause illness. Certain illnesses or medicines, for example, weaken the defense system.
