You have been infected by certain fungi. The fungi have damaged one or more of your organs.
The fungi can attack many organs in the body. You can then have various problems. When the skin is affected, for example, it can itch. If the fungi get into your blood vessels, you are usually seriously ill.
Fungi often cause illness when the defense system is weak. Certain illnesses or medicines, for example, weaken the defense system.
