E72.0: Disorders of amino-acid transport
You have a disorder that involves certain amino acids not being transported properly.
Amino acids perform many different functions in the body. The body needs amino acids to, for example, produce proteins. Some amino acids have to be consumed via food. Other amino acids can be produced in the body.
There are many different disorders that involve an inability to transport amino acids properly. This can have different effects, depending on the disorder. With some disorders, amino acids can then increasingly accumulate. With other disorders, amino acids are increasingly excreted. The symptoms can vary widely, depending on the disorder.
