E74.8: Other specified disorders of carbohydrate metabolism
You cannot properly process certain sugars.
This illness can be hereditary. In that case, other family members may also be affected.
If you cannot properly process certain sugars, you may for example pass additional specific substances in your urine. The kidneys may be damaged. There are normally 2 kidneys in the body. They filter blood and create urine. They thus help to detoxify the body. Furthermore, the kidneys regulate the blood pressure and salt content in the blood, among other things. But you may not have any symptoms with the disease.
