E79.9: Disorder of purine and pyrimidine metabolism, unspecified
Your body cannot process purines and pyrimidines properly. Purines and pyrimidines are components of cells.
Many purines and pyrimidines are contained in animal products and in our cells. Among other things, these substances create genetic material. If you eat animal products or if cells in your body break down, purines and pyrimidines are then converted or broken down. A large percentage of purines and pyrimidines are re-used. Only a small number of them are broken down further into uric acid. The uric acid is then passed out in urine. In your case, this breakdown or conversion is not working properly.
